Southeast High School: Film and Theatre Education (FATE)
Southeast High School provides two strands of film studies and additional extracurricular opportunities for its student population.
1. The mainstream track serves students that are interested in studying and analyzing film while working towards the opportunity to produce films. Within this track students can take the following courses:
2. The International Baccalaureate (IB) Film track provides students the opportunity to study, analyze, and produce films over a two year period. Within this track students can take the following courses:
Additionally, students can deepen their immersion into the world of film by being a member of Southeast FATE, otherwise known as the "Drama Club". In this organization, students are provided the opportunity to:
The student produced films will be showcased at Southeast High School as well as entered in a variety of film festivals within the state and around the nation with full support and facilitation from Southeast FATE.

- Voice and Diction/Improvisation
- Theatre, Cinema and Film
- Acting IV: Acting for Film and Television
2. The International Baccalaureate (IB) Film track provides students the opportunity to study, analyze, and produce films over a two year period. Within this track students can take the following courses:
- Theatre, Cinema and Film (Recommended--Sophomore year)
- IB Film Studies 1 (Junior year)
- IB Film Studies 2 (Senior year)
Additionally, students can deepen their immersion into the world of film by being a member of Southeast FATE, otherwise known as the "Drama Club". In this organization, students are provided the opportunity to:
- Write screenplays and have them produced
- Act in student created film productions
- Direct, design, or be a member of a film crew
- Edit and promote productions
The student produced films will be showcased at Southeast High School as well as entered in a variety of film festivals within the state and around the nation with full support and facilitation from Southeast FATE.
