Since cinematography involves the art of telling a story, we will learn about how cinematographers controls what the audience sees (framing) and how the subject is presented visually (composition). Film is a visual medium. Therefore, cinematographers need to have the ability to tell the story using visual language as opposed to relying on dialogue. We will learn how different shots work together to form a coherent narrative and how to compose each shot so that the image is visually pleasing while adding depth to the meaning of the film.
